This table top press is 3d printed from ‎Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), an engineering-grade 3d printing filament. ABS is lightweight, tough, and much more heat resistant than Polylactic Acid(PLA). ABS can resist temperatures up to 208F (98.2C). This press is Perfect for outdoor printing events or printing on the go. This press looks like a toy but can get some serious printing done with its 5:1 gear reduction. The gear reduction makes it so that even children can crank the handle and produce relief prints. And with a little bit of effort and high-quality felts you can print consistent drypoints and etchings.
 
If you plan to print etchings, make sure you have a good set of felts at home, or check out my store for a set of mini felts! Best etching results achieved with matrices smaller than 4 inches wide and with tub-soaked paper. (My best results were with Cranfield etching ink and tub-soaked Arches paper)

*WARNING: Avoid cleaning your press with acetone, as ABS plastic can be dissolved by acetone. 
 
Options:
Press bed: The press can come in a 6-inch wide variation or 8 8-inch wide variation. The press will come with a piece of whiteboard that can be used as a basic press bed. Whiteboard is hard and dense and can easily be cleaned after printing. If printing with metal plates, the surface may get scratched up. The press is designed to take any flat hard surface as a press bed, so if you lose or break it, it can be easily user-replaced or upgraded. I recommend using a surface that is 1/4inch thick to maintain consistency with the built-in ruler on the side of the press.
 
Extending wings: This upgrade adds more room for your press bed to sit on either side of the press while maintaining the original portable form factor. The wings will greatly help when feeding and catching larger prints, especially with the 8-inch wide press. These wings utilize the same base as the standard phantom plastic press v2, meaning that you can buy the base press and then add on the extending wings later without having to buy a whole new press.
 
Press form: The kit form press will come in pieces to save space on shipping. You will need only a phillips head screwdrive to assemble it, instructions included. The kit does include superglue and grease for lubrication. The Fully Assembled version will come fully assembled, calibrated, and lubricated. The gearbox will be permanently attached to the top roller.
 
This press only comes in 1 color scheme because of the price of the filament and slower printing speeds make it harder for me to maintain a large stock of parts. Send an email or message me on instagram if you want a custom colorway.
